Cast by S. Rajan, who operates one of a series of workshops making images in this south Indian temple town. The fine quality of Rajan's work has created an extraordinary problem for him. The Archaeological Survey of India has often designated his works as antique and denied them export permits.

Devasenapathy in his workshop. His house is one of a series along a "bronze casters street" where his ancestors have worked for centuries, supplying fine images to temples in southern India and, more recently, to those in places like London and Toronto.
