Gatineau, Quebec, January 11, 2013 — The third annual Christmas Tree Decorating Challenge presented at the Canadian Museum of Civilization was a great success. Hundreds of people came to admire 15 trees imaginatively decorated by local organizations.

From November 30, 2012 to January 6, 2013, visitors were invited to vote for their favourite Christmas tree displayed in the David M. Stewart Salon at the Museum. The Embassy of the Philippines and the Philippine Heritage Foundation with the support of TN Philippines is the winner of the 2012 Christmas Tree Decorating Challenge, having won 42% of the votes. They will be invited to participate again next year, and to decorate an even larger tree.

Fourteen local organizations from the arts, sports, health and cultural sectors were selected to decorate a 2.5-metre tree, including last year’s winner, The Embassy of Honduras and the Association of Hondurans Residing in Ottawa (ADEHRO) in a way that expressed their organization’s identity.
