Temporary closure of the Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum

December 23, 2021

Gatineau, Quebec, December 23, 2021 — In the light of the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum are closing to the public effective immediately and will reopen on January 19, 2022. All on-site events and programs are also cancelled.

We regret the impact of this decision on the individuals, families and groups who use our facilities. However, we believe that this decision is in the best interests of all the communities we serve. The health and safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority.

Throughout the closure, the Museums will continue to present rich and dynamic digital offerings on their websites. To explore this content, or for updates, please visit the Museums’ websites historymuseum.ca and warmuseum.ca as well as our social media channels.

Thank you for your understanding in these exceptional circumstances and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Museums soon.
