Meet players from the Canadian Women’s Hockey League at the Canadian Museum of History

Gatineau, Quebec, March 11, 2016 — Hockey fans are invited to the Canadian Museum of History this Saturday as four players from the Canadian Women’s Hockey League will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos.

In town for the 2016 Clarkson Cup Final, players from Les Canadiennes de Montréal (Karell Emard and Leslie Oles) and the Calgary Inferno (Jenna Cunningham and Kathy Desjardins) will be in the Museum’s lobby to meet supporters on Saturday, March 12, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The Canadian Women’s Hockey League is the highest calibre professionally run women’s hockey league in the world. It enables elite female hockey players to pursue their dreams of competing at the highest level possible. As a not-for-profit organization, every dollar it collects goes toward building a league that is dedicated to raising the profile of women’s hockey, providing a place for the best female players in the world to compete and inspiring the next generation of female hockey heroines.


Les Canadiennes de Montréal and the Calgary Inferno will face off in the championship game at the Canadian Tire Centre on Sunday, March 13, at 4 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting capitaltickets.ca. For more information about the Clarkson Cup, please visit thecwhl.com.

Save the date: From March 3 to October 9, 2017, the Canadian Museum of History will present the exhibition Hockey in Canada – More Than Just a Game. This exhibition will celebrate the passion Canadians have for the sport and give visitors the opportunity to see treasured artifacts from the history of hockey, discover the impact of the game on popular culture and communities, and allow them to relive memorable moments.
