Family Concert – Rick Scott & Shari Ulrich – Irresistible Music for all ages

Gatineau, Quebec, 28 November 2007 – The whole family will enjoy the warm and lively rhythms and melodies of Rick Scott and Shari Ulrich. These exceptional artists, members of the legendary Vancouver trio Pied Pumkin String Ensemble, will be performing at noon on December 2 in the Grand Hall of the Canadian Museum of Civilization.

Pied Pumkin String Ensemble won awards as Outstanding Children’s Recording and Parents’ Choice at the Western Canadian Music Awards in 2007 and earned NAPPA Music Honours for its latest album, Pumkids. Pied Pumkin String Ensemble is also a nominee for Best Children’s Album at the upcoming Canadian Folk Music Awards, an annual event that will be staged this year at the Canadian Museum of Civilization on December 1.

Pied Pumkin String Ensemble has been creating its own original music for over 25 years. Their undeniable talent, flawless harmonies and unique stringed instruments have shaped an original style and enduring sound for the famous trio, which sold 30,000 copies of its albums – 1998’s Plucking De Vine and 2000’s Pied Alive – on its own independent label, Squash Records.
