Celebrate the Mexican Day of the Dead at the Canadian Children’s Museum

Gatineau, Québec, October 10, 2006 — On October 28 and 29, the Canadian Children’s Museum at the Canadian Museum of Civilization invites you to celebrate the Day of the Dead just like the Canadian-Mexican community does! Enjoy this annual remembrance day, named Los Dias de los muertos in Mexico, with our special guests. Take advantage of this opportunity to make your own calacas (moving cardboard skeletons) and learn to make them dance, or take part in a parade through the Village to the sound of mariachis. At the Studio, participate in a cooking workshop and prepare a sugar skull like the ones placed on the family altar in Mexican homes. Organised in collaboration with the Embassy of Mexico.
