Go behind the scenes of Canada’s Titanic – The Empress of Ireland exhibition

Gatineau, Quebec, September 18, 2014 – The Canadian Museum of History is inviting the public to celebrate Culture Days on Saturday, September 27 with a behind the scenes presentation on the making of the exhibition Canada’s Titanic – The Empress of Ireland.

The Museum will host three presentations — one for Museum Members only, one in French and one in English — led by the curator of the exhibition, Dr. John Willis and conservator Amanda Gould. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to go into the Museum’s Objects Lab and to discover the historical significance behind some of the treasured artifacts from the Empress of Ireland collection.

This special presentation is free, but space is limited. Register as soon as possible by calling 819-776-7000. Suitable for ages 10 +.

Culture Days and Les Journées de la culture are celebrated yearly throughout Canada to highlight the importance of the arts and culture to communities all over the country. This year from September 26 to 28, hundreds of thousands of artists and cultural organizations in hundreds of cities and towns will come together and invite Canadians to participate in free interactive and behind the scenes activities.
