Gatineau, Quebec, September 16, 2013 — Dusk-till-dawn art-lovers will take over the Canadian Museum of Civilization during this year’s Nuit Blanche Ottawa-Gatineau. The Museum is thrilled to be partnering for the first time with this all-night celebration of the National Capital Region’s creativity in the visual and performing arts, slated for the evening of Saturday, September 21 from 6:21 p.m. to 4:22 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Hop aboard a Nuit Blanche shuttle bus, walk, or bike to the Museum, where a night’s worth of exciting art and culture-based experiences will come to life as the sun goes down. Throughout the evening and into the small hours, a live DJ will be pumping music throughout the temporary galleries, transforming the special exhibition corridor into a pop-up lounge: the perfect place for Nuit Blanche-goers to relax and enjoy themed cocktails.

Visitors will do a double-take at Double Take, viewing portraits of famous Canadians as they never seen them before. Meanwhile, Vodou will whisk visitors to Caribbean shores while opening a window on spiritual practices. Temporary art installations will entice Nuit Blanche participants to linger a little longer before exploring the rest of the Centreville-Gatineau art zone.

Admission is free; a cash bar and food services will also be available.
