TD Canadian Children’s Book Week Visits
the Canadian Children’s Museum!


Gatineau, Quebec, April 27, 2011—Children’s Museum visitors will enjoy a very special activity on Sunday, May 1! Well-known author and illustrator Geneviève Côté will be at the Theatre of the Canadian Children’s Museum at 1:30 and 2:15 p.m., to talk about her books and her profession.


This activity is presented in conjunction with TD Canadian Children’s Book Week, which will take place from April 30 until May 7, 2011. For the occasion, five French-speaking as well as 27 English-speaking authors and illustrators will travel throughout Canada to promote the theme: Changing the World, One Child at a Time. The theme will highlight children and teens who are doing things to make the world a better place in their community, country or abroad. As part of TD Canadian Children’s Book Week, well-known author and illustrator Geneviève Côté brings her tour to the Children’s Museum to read from her latest book, What Elephant? Come share your story and create an illustration with her!



Biography


Geneviève Côté has illustrated a number of children’s books, but What Elephant? and With you always, Little Monday are the first two books that she wrote and illustrated. Her editorial art has appeared in several North American publications, including The New York Times.


She has won several honours over the years, including the General Governor’s Award for Illustration in 2007.
