What’s on at the Museum


The Museum invites you to special activities that will be held during Winterlude, including:


Night at the Museum: Chill-Out Chalet — Come in from the Cold!
Friday, February 4 at 5 p.m. – David M. Stewart Salon
February 5, 6, 19, 20 and 21 at 10:30 a.m. – David M. Stewart Salon and Grand Hall
February 12 and 13 at 10:30 a.m. – David M. Stewart Salon
Come in from the cold and enjoy our cozy chalet setting. We’ll put you in the mood for winter nostalgia with activities for everyone. Sit back and relax as you fashion some “woolly” crafts, or try your hand at oversized versions of classic games. Listen to tall tales of winters gone by and chat with historical characters from the past.


Les 7 doigts de la main
Friday, February 4 at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. – Theatre
20-minute performance
Peel off your mittens and toques—Les 7 doigts de la main are at the CIV! This custom-made circus show, presented in its signature contemporary style, is sure to warm you up during Winterlude.


Free tickets will be made available starting at 5 p.m. at the Museum Box office.


Come in From the Cold
Friday, February 4 at 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. – Canada Hall
February 5 and 6 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. – Canada Hall
Join Dramamuse, the Museum’s own theatre company, for a lively interactive theatre experience. Warm up with spicy stories of earlier Canadian winters and interact with characters who, like your ancestors, found ways to come in from the cold and stay warm.


Free Presentation on the IMAX Dome
Friday, February 4 – IMAX Theatre
5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (English)
6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (French)
To celebrate the start of Winterlude, we’re offering a free presentation February 4 of Extreme, a thrilling documentary on the IMAX Dome. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as athletes ski and snowboard down perilous peaks, climb red-rock spires and frozen waterfalls, and surf on mountains of water through gale-force winds. It’s a white-knuckle experience that’s safe for the whole family!


Free tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Museum Box office, starting at 5 p.m.

50-minute performance
This circus show is presented in contemporary style. Tickets: $20 adults; $15 children and students. Families (two adults, plus two children or youth) $60. Tickets are available at the Museum Box office or by calling 819 776-8600 (service charges apply). Museum Members: 10% discount on individual ticket prices only.
