Festive Trees

Special Exhibitions Corridor
First-ever Festive Trees Decorating Challenge features a stunning display of 20 lavishly decorated trees created by local community organizations. Each of the groups was given a tree and electrical supply, but the rest was up to them. Be sure to visit all 20 trees, and vote for your favourite! The winner will be announced on January 9, 2011.

The Museum’s theatre company, Dramamuse, invites you to help bring history to life—and life to history—by interacting with historical characters within the stunning environment of Canada Hall. Enjoy cocktails with your Valentine before sitting down to an exceptional four-course meal in the ambience of the majestic Grand Hall of the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau. The Valentine’s Gala supports the Youth Education Fund of the Museum of Civilization and the War Museum. All proceeds will be used to support and enhance programs designed for young people to ensure our next generation develops an appreciation and knowledge of Canadian history, culture and world civilizations. Creative Art-Making

Studio and Kaleidoscope
Jumpstart your imagination and stretch your creative thinking skills with our drop-in workshops. In the Studio, come and make your own decoration with the thread of golden metal and pearls. And in the Kaleidoscope Gallery, come and make a toy and learn about the laws of the balance by making a chap tightrope walker. Activities for ages 5 and up.
