Classical Superstars of Tomorrow

Tomorrow’s classical music superstars will gather in Ottawa for three weeks of training with Pinchas Zukerman as part of the National Arts Centre Young Artist Programme. Come and hear these exceptionally talented young musicians from Canada and beyond as they perform some of the finest chamber music.
In partnership with the National Arts Centre.

Mythic Kite Wars
Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28

Performance is weather permitting
It’s a battle of the beasts on the Museum’s Waterfall Court! Join kite experts from Vent en Fête for a dazzling aerodynamic performance. Take part in a kite-making workshop from 11 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 3 p.m. and watch your very own imaginary creature take to the skies. This activity is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Mythic Beasts: Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids.

James Houston Film Premiere

Join us for the Ottawa premiere of James Houston: The Most Interesting People You Could Ever Meet, directed by James Houston’s son John, an award winning, Halifax-based film director. The film will be introduced by John Houston and Cape Dorset’s Jimmy Manning, an Inuk photographer and former art advisor to the West Baffin Eskimo Cooperative. A discussion follows the film.

No Power Greater will plunge you into the middle of the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike. Meet strike leader Mrs. Helen Armstrong and three young men with very different opinions on the strike. Duration: 25 minutes.
