Tastes and Sounds of Egypt

Gatineau, Quebec, January 27, 2009 — This Thursday, February 5, come to the Canadian Museum of Civilization where the sounds and aromas of Egypt will transport you to a faraway part of the world.

Enjoy the flavours of traditional dishes prepared by Egyptian caterer Michael Florance while listening to pianist and harpist Hoda Banoub Nassim. The Enan Dance Troupe will perform traditional and folkloric dances while you enjoy some Kakadé, a drink made from hibiscus flowers, water and sugar, served by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The evening would not be complete without a visit to the popular Tombs of Eternity: The Afterlife in Ancient Egypt exhibition, where curator Dr. Matthew Betts will be available to answer questions and enlighten guests on the artifacts on display and their stories.

An Evening at the Museum: Tastes and Sounds of Egypt
Thursday, February 5
7 to 9 p.m.
