Chinese Watercolour Painting
Saturday, October 20, 2007 – 1 to 5 p.m.
Sunday, October 21, 2007- noon to 4 p.m.

Special Exhibitions Corridor
Join us for a demonstration of this ancient Chinese art form by local artist Rowena Tolson, who will execute her work in Chinese watercolour painting in situ. This activity is presented in conjunction with Treasures from China, which features 120 prized artefacts and illuminates the rich history and remarkable achievements of the Chinese people, from ancient times to the modern era. On display are jade carvings and lacquerware, paintings and calligraphy, silk textiles, ceramics and items fashioned from bronze, gold and silver. Presented until October 28, 2007

Bat Hunt
October 16 to 31, 2007

Throughout the day, during opening hours
There will be bats on hats, bats under mats, bats taking naps – you must find all the bats hiding throughout the Museum to win a special Halloween treat! This activity is part of Kids Celebrate!

Day of the Dead

Celebrate Mexico’s annual custom of remembrance, known as Los Dias de los muertos. This activity is part of the Just for You and Your Preschooler workshops (ages 5 and under).

Scary Sketches

In conjunction with the Rendez-vous International de la BD de Gatineau, meet a comic-book artist who will teach you a “trick” or two on how to create a spooky sketch. Our special guest will be here to meet you at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. This activity is part of Kids Celebrate!

Explore the intriguing world of comic books and discover what this popular art form has to offer. The Rendez-vous International de la BD de Gatineau team proposes to visitors a wide range of exciting activities and animation, such as traditional drawing sessions, signings, activities for school groups, a reading corner, BÉDÉLIRE, presented on Saturday and Sunday by the Communication-Jeunesse team, and comic-strip workshops with a Halloween touch, in collaboration with the Canadian Children’s Museum of the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
