Gatineau, Quebec, August 20, 2007 On August 25 and 26, the Canadian Museum of Civilization invites you to a colourful and energetic presentation of traditional Chinese dances by the Chinese Dance Troupe of Ottawa. The performance will showcase traditional Chinese folk styles including folk dances from various ethnic minorities in the country. The Chinese Ottawa Dance Troupe is a not-for-profit arts group dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and enriching our community.Chinese dance dates back nearly 5,000 years. The various ethnic minority groups in China differ widely in their folkways and customs.
