The Art of Beading

Gatineau, Quebec, June 27, 2007 — On July 4 and 5, join Aboriginal artist Samuel Thomas and discover traditional Iroquois beading techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own beaded bird in the inspiring Grand Hall at the Canadian Museum of Civilization.

Samuel Thomas is a member of the Lower Cayuga Band of the Iroquois Nation, Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve. He is the creator and curator of Ska-Ni-Kwat: The Power of the Good Mind, a travelling exhibition, and Through the Voices of Beads, a Royal Ontario Museum exhibition.
