Five fewer weeks to visit exhibition on nursing history

Major renovations to gallery mean five fewer weeks to visit exhibition on nursing history

Gatineau, Quebec, March 15, 2006 — The closing date of A Caring Profession: Centuries of Nursing in Canada has been moved ahead by five weeks, to July 30, 2006. The Canadian Museum of Civilization had to shorten the run of this very well attended exhibition to accommodate major structural changes to the gallery space. These renovations could not be done at any other time.

The Museum sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused to visitors, and is asking those planning a visit to the exhibition this summer to take note of the new closing date.

A Caring Profession: Centuries of Nursing in Canada opened on June 16, 2005. By the time it closes on July 30, 2006, the exhibition will have been on display for more than a year at the Museum. To date, the exhibition has welcomed close to 110,000 visitors. The Museum expects thousands more visitors will see the first-ever exhibition on the compelling history of Canadian nurses before it closes on July 30, 2006.
