The Museum is committed to supporting the revitalization and strengthening of Indigenous languages.
Learn more about some of the initiatives undertaken by the Canadian Museum of History to increase the visibility of Indigenous languages throughout the Museum, and to highlight for visitors the richness and diversity of Indigenous languages across the country. In support of the UNESCO International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022–2032), the Museum is prioritizing the digitization of archival materials containing Indigenous languages, and integrating Indigenous languages into its projects and products.

Museum Guides
To increase the visibility of Indigenous languages and acknowledge their importance, the Museum Guide is available in three Indigenous languages, including Algonquin (Anishinabemowin), Inuktitut and Michif Cree. Guides in other Indigenous languages are being produced in collaboration with Indigenous communities, and will be available soon.
Free admission for Indigenous Peoples
Admission to the Canadian Museum of History is always free for Indigenous Peoples, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
