These frames have a distinctive bluish green glaze that has been found on only a handful of other Canadian examples. Each frame is marked on the back with “J Marx Potter Paris 1863.” The glass, coloured prints and pine back pieces all appear to be of the period and may be the originals. Although these frames are very similar, they are not identical. One frame is slightly larger and has 44 semicircular lobes around the outer edges versus 43 on the smaller frame.
