Doublecloth Coverlet
The majority of the doublecloth coverlets found in Ontario are made with wool woven on a cotton ground (warp). This expertly woven example is unusual because it is made entirely from wool and combines three colours. It was passed down in the Honsberger family of Lincoln County and possibly was woven by Samuel Fry. In 1836, Fry set up shop as a professional weaver in nearby Vineland, Ontario.
