Two Pitchers
These two pitchers are noteworthy for their lipped rims and wide, moulded handles. The glaze is more dramatic than usual due to the combination of vibrant orange and black/brown splashes. Although these pitchers were found a distance from each other — one near Kingston, Ontario, and the other near Brockville — their glazed finishes and artisanship indicate that they were made by the same hand, probably by one of the potters along the north side of the St. Lawrence River corridor.
