Chair Table

Chair tables are uncommon in Ontario furnishings. They often date from the early 1800s when homes were smaller and space was at a premium. Chair tables could serve two purposes: first as a table and later as a chair with the top up and resting against the wall. Some versions even offered storage under the seat. This is a notable example because of its large scale, essentially original condition and restrained turnings on the base.
