This Sheraton sofa table has a form that is more often found in the United Kingdom and Ireland than in North America. The well-figured mahogany top, wide drawer at each end and concave swept legs with triple line inlay create a harmonious effect. The turned centre stretcher is higher than usual, possibly to reduce restrictions when someone is seated at the front or back. The lower edge of the apron has line inlay similar to that found on pieces with a Halifax provenance.
