Plan Your Visit

Join author Keisha Cuffie as she reads part of her newly released time-travel adventure story that explores the history of Emancipation Day. The reading will be followed by an interactive workshop with activities based on the book.

Synopsis:
Tyra loves exploring her grandparents’ attic. On Emancipation Day, she discovers a magical pocket watch that transports her back to August 1, 1834. There, she meets her great-great-great-grandfather, Samuel, and learns about the first Emancipation Day celebration.

To return to her own time, Tyra and Samuel solve puzzles about historical figures who fought for freedom. They face danger from mysterious figures who want to bury the past. Despite this, Tyra embraces her role as a Time Keeper, ensuring Emancipation Day stories are remembered and honoured.

The Time Keepers is an engaging adventure that combines history and magic, teaching young readers about the importance of Emancipation Day and preserving our past. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
