Black Life: Untold Stories — Screening and Panel Discussion

Plan Your Visit

Celebrate Black History Month at the Canadian Museum of History with a special screening of an episode from the groundbreaking CBC documentary series, Black Life: Untold Stories, followed by a panel discussion featuring experts from the show.

In Fall 2023, CBC launched an eight-part documentary series spanning 400 years of Black history in Canada, highlighting the struggles, resilience, and joy of Black people in this country, while also celebrating their contributions to Canadian history and daily life.

Come to the Canadian Museum of History to watch Episode 8: Claiming Space, which examines the growth of Black communities across Canada and their resistance to systematic displacement. A panel discussion — featuring filmmakers, experts and individuals from the series — will follow the screening.

Guests are also invited to a reception in the Theatre Lobby, with hors-d’oeuvres and a cash bar, following the screening and discussion.

The event is in English only, with simultaneous interpretation into French.

This is a free event, but registration is required. Reserve your tickets.
