Conquering the North Atlantic

West to east on the Do-X

These four stamps were printed for the Dornier Do-X transatlantic flight between New York and Berlin, Germany. The plane stopped in Newfoundland and resumed its flight on May 21, 1932, via Horta (in the Azores), Spain and England, reaching Berlin on May 24. The stamp issued for the flight was overprinted on a 1932 Newfoundland One Dollar airmail stamp.
