Did You Say "Italian"?

Multiplication. Today there are over a million Canadians of Italian origin. With each new generation, new ways of being "Italian" have emerged.

Diversification. Professional mobility among Italian Canadians has been significant. Italian Canadian immigrants, their children and grandchildren now work in almost every occupational field.

Participation. Today Italian Canadians play an active role in Canadian society. Some of their institutions serve people of every origin, and their programming reflects this. Many Italian Canadians are politically involved; some are active in trade unions, while others are city councillors, mayors, members of Parliament or provincial legislatures, ministers or senators.
