Karen Gordon

Made by
Marie Gordon and her daughter Karen.

Women's dance moccasins.

Glass beads, commercially tanned hide, tin cones.

"These are called Ojib-Sioux moccasins because my mother was of Sioux origin and my father an Ojibwa. That is why I combine the floral and geometric designs and feel comfortable in doing so. Jingles on the ends of the laces are from the Ojibwa. The beaded design is one I did as I went along. The pattern for the moccasin is also made up by yours truly".
