Description
Shawna Boulette Grapentine, a Cree-Ojibway artist, was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in the small Metis community of Manigotogan on the northeastern shores of Lake Winnipeg. She is a proud member of the Hollow Water First Nation.
Shawna is renowned for her detailed and vibrant paintings. From a young age, she discovered her passion for painting, sketching, and creating art. Her talent was nurtured by the Frontier School Division, which provided her with a solid foundation in the arts.
“Each of my paintings contains a piece of my heart and soul, childhood memories, and silent prayers for guidance and strength in making a difference in the world. It has taken time and maturity to pursue a full-time career with my artwork business.”
Since 2010, her business, Moon & Back Custom Arts, has been creating inspiring art pieces that have garnered recognition across Canada and the United States. The name of her business was inspired by a children’s storybook she shared with her son, symbolizing her unconditional love for him.
