Billy club
This billy club, or police officer’s truncheon, was used during the Winnipeg General Strike. On May 15, 1919, some 30,000 workers shut down the city in a general strike over pay, working conditions and bargaining rights. Federal police and military personnel brutally ended the strike in late June.
