Yours Sincerely, Lucy Maud Montgomery (Satellite exhibition)

Follow the author of Anne of Green Gables in her early activities as an assistant postmaster.

Ongoing exhibition

If you happen to be in Prince Edward Island this summer, come meet Lucy Maud Montgomery, the famous author of Anne of Green Gables. In an exhibition presented at the Cavendish Post Office, you’ll discover the fascinating connection between this illustrious Canadian writer and the post.

This small exhibition invites you to follow the writer’s manuscripts through the postal system. Many objects from the Canadian Museum of History’s collection illustrate Montgomery’s work as assistant postmaster. Taking advantage of her job at the post office run by her family, the determined young woman discreetly mailed the manuscript of her famous novel to publishers. That’s how she got it published!

The Cavendish post office is open from May 21 to October 11.
