Meet artist Maxine Noel at the Canadian Museum of History

Gatineau, Quebec, September 20, 2016 — Members of the public are invited to the Canadian Museum of History this Friday for a meet and greet with Sioux artist Maxine Noel.

The Manitoba-born artist will be on hand in the Museum’s lobby to meet visitors and art enthusiasts on Friday, September 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. Noel is known for her work Not Forgotten, a painting created in memory and honour of missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls. Notably, the painting is featured on numerous objects available at the Museum’s Boutique.

To date, the Canadian Museum of History’s National Collection includes eight of Noel’s works, most of which are prints.
